Barefoot simplicity is the key to The Teak House. Relax in the inside/outside living room. Plug your favourite tunes into the MP3 speaker system. Swing in a hammock beneath the coconut palms or take a cocktail on the bespoke teak sun loungers.

As the heat of the day turns to dusk, take an evening swim in the Indian Ocean below, join a game of cricket on the beach, stroll beneath the cool canopy of the coconut plantation or enjoy a cup of delicious Ceylon tea on the verandah. Nothing is too much trouble for our staff. After a while, you won’t even have to ask – a refreshing drink will simply appear.

Early mornings are very special at The Teak House. As the sun rises and the hibiscus flowers open, the garden is a truly special place. Planted with a breathtaking variety of hibiscus, bougainvillea, flowering ginger, frangipani, it never ceases to delight. With over two hundred coconut palms on the plantation surrounding the house, a fresh coconut is not a luxury but a daily necessity.
