Tangalle, Sri Lanka
For years and years, Sri Lanka was marketed as a Winter sun (Northern Hemisphere) only destination. Nothing could be further from the truth. Having lived in and subsequently visited Sri Lanka two or three times a year for the last ten years, this myth really does need to be dispelled.
As we all know only too well, the weather worldwide is doing some strange things. Monumental snow falls in the Alps this Winter as the UK has one of the warmest winters on record. We all know the story. However, Sri Lanka can be absolutely wonderful in the months of June, July and August. I know, I was there last June, oh, and February, and October! Whilst February was quite divine, June was truly beautiful and the weather in October was perfect. The beach does change according to the season but I swam in each of those three months, no problem!
So have a look and check out the South Coast of Sri Lanka for the high summer months. It really is a year round destination.
